Welcome!
Welcome to Learning to Crochet! This is an eight-week course on the basics of learning how to crochet. Whether you've never tried to crochet before, have experience and want to keep learning, or just want a space to meet new people and work on projects while re-exploring the basics, everyone is welcome! We'll meet every Saturday from 3-4pm at CLP-Main.
Course materials we'll use
The main resource for this course will be the Crochet 101 Journey on Creativebug. This learning plan includes tutorials on the basics of learning crochet for beginners. Creativebug resources are free with a CLP library card. Other resources may include free patterns available online.
All members will need a crochet hook and yarn in order to participate. While a limited number of materials will be available, it is highly recommended that you bring your own hook and yarn if you are able. Any yarn or hook will work, but if you're not sure where to start, try size 4 yarn with a 5mm (H-8) hook. For a yarn weight and hook size chart, refer to https://creamofthecropcrochet.com/yarn-weight-and-crochet-hook-size-chart/. (Don't worry if this is confusing, we'll go over it during the learning circle as well!)
