Italian Literature Book Club & Intermediate Adv. Intermediate Conversation
A learning circle

Welcome!
Welcome to a learning circle of individuals that are passionate about Italian language, literature, culture and immersive conversation at an intermediate to advanced intermediate level. We meet for 60 minutes of Italian conversation weekly based on agreed upon reading. This series will be based on the book Il Gattopardo and/or Netflix series The Leopard scritto di Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. We will explore other sources as well on related history, culture, etc. You do not need to read the book to participate in and enjoy the conversation. If Netflix series or the 1963 movie version works better for you that is certainly an option.
Course materials we'll use
A typical session is full of conversation in Italian on the author and the week's reading with discussion questions that are shared in advance to kick off the conversation. We often engage in an exchange of observations, reflections, and whatever spontaneous path our curiosity and our dialog takes us. A shared google doc or story board is an optional feature for those that wish to write in Italian between sessions.
