Welcome!
The goal is to immerse and actively engage in Italian conversation in every session. Guidance & Recommendations: 1) Prepare for each session by learning and/or refreshing on vocabulary in the planned content area, 2) Prepare and practice your talking points, anticipate questions and your responses, 3) Focus on active listening and take notes on what you heard and what you might like to ask a follow-up question about, 4) Share the talk time so that all participants can have an active role.
Example Topics: Week 1: Introductions and language learning shared tips and insights, Week 2: Families & friends, describing people & characteristics, Week 3: Work & hobbies, Week 3: Food & Dining, Week 4: Entertainment, Week 5: Books, Movies & Music, Week 6: Seasonal fun: travel & outdoors.
Course materials we'll use
Recommended Resources/Reference: Mango is available with your CLP library card. You can use any other sources that you have and prefer. Mango is one of many options and one that is available to you at no cost. For example, Mango Section 1 Introductions has a lot of great content. Language learners tend to use a variety of resources. In our group we will share our favorites.
